  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut the fillets into small, bite-sized pieces or nugget shapes.
  2. In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Line them up in that order, creating a coating station.
  3. Take each fish piece and coat it with flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, coat it with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the fish. Place the coated nugget on a plate or baking sheet and repeat with the remaining fish pieces.
  4. In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat enough vegetable oil to fully submerge the fish nuggets. Heat the oil to around 350°F (175°C). If you don't have a thermometer, you can test the oil by dropping a small piece of breadcrumb into it. If it sizzles and rises to the surface, the oil is ready.
  5. Carefully place the coated fish nuggets into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through cooking to ensure even browning. Fry the nuggets in batches if needed.
  6. Once the fish nuggets are cooked, use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove them from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate. This will help absorb any excess oil. Repeat the frying process until all the nuggets are cooked.
  7. Fish nuggets are delicious when served hot. You can garnish them with lemon wedges and serve with tartar sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
