  • 8 ounces (about 1 cup) lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained and picked over for shells)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco), optional for some heat
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), and minced garlic. Mix until the ingredients are well blended and smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the lump crab meat, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped green onions. Be careful not to overmix, as you want to keep some texture from the crab meat.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning (if using). Adjust the seasonings to your taste. You can also add a teaspoon of lemon juice for a touch of freshness.
  5. Transfer the crab dip mixture to a baking dish, such as an 8x8-inch casserole dish or a similar-sized oven-safe dish.
  6. Sprinkle some additional shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions on top for garnish.
  7. Bake the crab dip in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until it's hot and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
  8. Once done, remove the crab dip from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. You can garnish the dip with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
