This appearance might slightly differ depend on the type of what barracuda it is. For the example, the Great Barracuda has silver color with spots on their body, while Pickhandle Barracuda has a dark bars line that running across their body. The smaller barracudas has the coloration that help them to blend in with their surrounding in order to protects them from their predators. Their thin body allows them to move faster through the water, it also helps to swim in and out of narrow spaces in coral reef.

These fish distribution is can be found around the world especially in tropical and subtropical oceans. They will be found in many ecosystems like coral reefs, seagrasses and mangrove near the shore. Barracudas long and thin body makes them swim in and out the holes and crevices in a reef. Most of their prey is live around the coral reefs as well like smaller fish. Barracudas would also eat fish like grouper, tuna, herring, anchovies and many more. This fish has a powerful jaw that can tear herring appart in half with a one bite.

Barracuda average length is about two feet or 60 cm. Their weight range of the average size barracuda is about 4.5 - 5.5 kg, some larger species would have bigger size than thus average weight. The most noticeable trait that this fish has is its pointy lover jaw that sticks out as it swims along. Their mouth usually is partially open that shows their dozens of tiny and sharp teeth. Some of this teeth are angled in a forward position and some is tilt backward. This backward teeth is used to keep small fish or prey from slipping out of barracudas mouth. This type of teeth is design to tear and chew their prey.
