1.    They are very smart animal, they can wait for a gratification!
Studies show that cuttlefish can wait for a better reward. Cuttlefish were put in a tank with two doors that contain two different prize. Frist door would offer them a crab, while the second door is a shrimp (their favorite). The experiment shows that cuttlefish consistently waited for the shrimp.


2.    Very good at camouflage
Cuttlefish often hunt for prey by changing their color, pattern and shape. This color changing happen in a flashing way so it will hypnotize the prey. They also would move their arms and tentacles to mimic coral to attract their prey so they will come closer. This camouflage ability is used to avoid predator as well.

3.    Creates cloud ink for getaway
Similar to their cousins, squid and octopus, cuttlefish also can release an ink in order to confuse their predator. The ink gives a cuttlefish some time to flee and hide. They can also use their ability to swim fast with jet propulsion system and reach speed up to 40 km/h.


4.    Two tentacles that can extend to reach out their prey
They have eight arms like octopus with an addition of two tentacles. While they are hunting, the tentacles would come out of nowhere in a blink of an eye. This tentacles is equips with suction at the end of it, which helps to catch their prey.


5.    Green blood instead of red
Cuttlefish blood is green-blue due to the content of hemocyanin in their blood. This give the blood the green-blue color.

6.    Enjoy a short life
Despite their incredible capability, cuttlefish only have life span about a year or two. Giant cuttlefish might have more life expectancy about two to four years. This short life is cause by their many predators like shark, dolphin, larger fish and seals. Some of the cuttlefish also die after mating, like octopus.


7.    Can Give unpleasant attitude
Cuttlefish in captivity shows some behaviour that they would squirt to their caretaker if they don’t give the food or slow with a treat. Researcher found that cuttlefish learned to associate human with food. Cuttlefish is more likely to eat food that appear to be alive, so the human will make a wiggle before they give it to the cuttlefish.
